Configuration transfer or export/import

Some, but not all, configuration settings are inherited upon installation of a new version of DMD.  Ladder window colors transfer, but Memory View config, ladder 2D/3D, and Start Page config do not, for example.

Is there a way we can export those settings, and/or can you tell us the file location where the settings are recorded so we can back it up, at least for future reinstalls of the same version, hopefully transferable to future versions, and also hopefully XML or some form decipherable by a human, or at least an engineer, so we can migrate manually in bulk.

Did you have your toobars import? I just did get v2.2 set up on multiple machines and v2.3 didn't inherit the toolbars.

I dread doing this again so soon.

No they didn't, that's another entry in the "doesn't" column.

Well, I took a chance and found the toolbars (not named toolbars BTW) in the registry for v2.2 and copied them into v2.3 and that seems to have worked. There are some things in the .ini file for colors and such that I didn't try yet.

I'm not suggesting anyone mess around in their registry though. What I tried this in was XP SP2 so things may be different in other versions of Windows.

Sorry about that.  You can manually copy the Options file from
"public documents"\Designer\Designer2_2\bin\DmOption.opt
to
"public documents"\Designer\Designer2_3\bin\DmOption.opt

Ooh, that's easy, thanks!   Maybe add that as an option in the install script?
