Do More software becoming unstable and not responding
« on: April 09, 2013, 04:04:32 PM »
Using a windows 7 computer. All the software is up to date.

About five (5) times a day "sometimes more" while I'm programming and I go to "save the project to file" or "save the project to the PLC" the software becomes "NOT RESPONDING". The screen goes pale and you have to re-start your computer to re-start the software.

This is getting on my nerves. If I can get this resolved the Do-More is "one and done". Tech support has not been able to help. They said it could be a grounding problem. Not true. Everything is grounding including me. I've rapped a copper wire around my wrist and grounding it. There are no static discharges. I've also re-installed the software three (3) times.

Anybody have any idea's. I'm hoping someone from HOST reads this because I need help and I can't be the only one who has this problem.

Sorry this is getting on your nerves, but this is the first time we've heard anything like this.

We're gonna need more info than this. It would probably be best if one or our techs contact you. Please PM me contact info.

I've updated everything I can in the Do-more. I hope this works. I really do.

So do we! But does this latest post mean that originally you thought you had the latest updates and you actually didn't? Also, does this mean you have used it since updating it and now it no longer locks up on you?  ???

We are very interested if the update fixed your problems.  :)

Yesterday Sunday 4/14/2013. Even though all my software is up to date it will still freeze on me. As it did yesterday. So far I've noticed it happening after I've been online (the net) then off the net and have the status lights "on". When I go to save or download a change is when the freeze will happen. Maybe there is some software running in the back round it doesn't like.

I seriously doubt "there is some software running in the back ground it doesn't like", but perhaps. Yours is the only one that we know of with this symptom. Something, therefore, seems to be unique to your PC. So...

Some questions:
1. What make & model is your PC?
2. What Windows OS do you have?
3. How much RAM does your PC have?
4. How fast is your PC?
5. What Do-more Designer version do you have? (Help --> About)
6. What Do-more PLC versions do you have? (There are 4 different versions in PLC --> System Information)
7. Are you editing/downloading System Configuration/Memory Configuration changes? Or just program changes?
8. Are you online by serial, USB or Ethernet?
9. Have you tried another PC?
10. Have you tried ONLY downloading changes with Status OFF?
