PLC deleting folders
« on: April 16, 2021, 12:27:27 AM »
The attached plc keeps deleting folders that are created on the ram-based file system. I recreate them every day, next day they're gone. Is there a fix for this issue?

I've noticed sometimes that if I go into the file system a file won't show up until I refresh.

Yes, the Browse PLC File System dialog is not like Windows Explorer where files refresh automatically.  You must always hit the refresh button to re-read the directory.  Think of it more like ftp software (batch reads/writes), not Windows Explorer (live update).

I have tried refreshing, doesn't help. The files are actually gone, because I'm getting "unknown filelogging error".

I always have to hit Browse to Root, even though I have no subfolders on @RAMFS.

Are there any situations where these files could get deleted, say when making certain configuration changes and then downloading? I have been tweaking this project almost daily, and I have had to recreate the folders at least 4 or 5 times.

The RAM drive probably does get reset after a sysconfig download, possibly a program mode download of the program.  Runtime edit of the control logic would not reset the RAM drive.

I have found all of the above to be true.  The RAM is also cleared if you HALT a Program that is stuck continually looping reading a RAM file ::)  This may have something to do with a watchdog error, either way, not recommended ;D
