Problem Found with Simulator
« on: December 17, 2017, 01:44:12 PM »
When I load DMD 2.1.4 and select a project that will load with the DM-Simulator, first I notice the time lag of the simulator loading. Next DMD just sit there. Click on Project Browser and both DMD and DMSim lock-up. Unable to exit the programs I started Task Manager. Then selected DMD or DMSIM then End Process. Both will stop running and unload. But then you are unable to exit Task Manager. Then you will have to Restart windows.
The reason is not all of DMD did not unload. I found this out when I took Task Manager to the next level and started the Resource Monitor. Under Memory, select DMDesigner, then right click then select End Process Tree. Then i was able to exit Task Manager.

Work around is to start DmSim first before starting DmDesigner.

My equipment list and configuration is included in Speccy.zip file.

Can you email your SIM project to support@hosteng.com?

Thanks!

I sent the test code I was using but any of the codes I ran did the same thing.

You might try an uninstall/re-install, and possibly a reboot.

Did it twice!
I'm going to try something else!
Let you know after I do it.

OK! I believe I have solved this.
In the first pic, I selected the simulator project and then clicked on Open Selected Project.
In the second pic, The Simulator loaded in about 35 seconds. That's a long time!
The third pic shows the state in-which DMD is in. Note it is not the active window but, you can select any menu item just one time and then it's locked.

Continue on to next message.

In the forth pic, I believe the circled item is behind the DMD window and you have to select OK button before resuming back to DMD main window because, in the fifth pic, this is the state the Simulator is in when DMD tries to link up.
