New to Do-More

about 2 weeks ago I just purchased the Do-More (H2-DM-START) and a C-More Micro (EA1-S6ML) and a few more goodies for my educational purposes, to learn more about how to automate using products from AutomationDirect. I plopped down about $1500 of my own money and plan on using the 30 days online training but, for now I was just playing around with it and made some simple lines to get a feel for it. I'm having a problem with the panel and the Do-More talking to each other, I'm using port 2 (from the panel) to the RS-232 of the DO-More CPU. What settings am I missing here, any help would appreciated, thanks,

I think the RJ11 RS232 serial port on the Do-More may be programming only.  If it does HMI comms at all, it may be that it only supports native Do-More protocol.  Does the C-More support Do-More protocol, or are you intending to use it in DL Classic mode or maybe Modbus RTU?

On my display I use port 2 for the connection to Do-more. Requires cable EA-2CBL.
For port 1 you need cable DV-1000CBL.
For the Display Panel make sure you select PLC Protocol: AutomationDirect Do-more Serial.
Double check you Baud Rates are the same for the Do-more and the display. (Panel Manager under Function Tab)
The display panel Port 1 is 9600 only.
Sense I use Port 2 I use a faster Buad Rate of 38400
Other settings:
Parity: None
Stop bit: 1
Data Bits: 8
Then send the project to the display panel.
On the Do-more check your settings Under PLC Menu: System configuration: CPU Configuration: Serial Port Mode set to Do-more Programming, then click on Device Settings... and set Baud Rate, Data Bits, Stop Bits and Parity to the same as the display panel. Transmit Control should be Unconditional and RTS Control should be Follows Transmitter.

Should work as it works for me.
Best test is create a button for the display panel that turns C1 ON and OFF.
With the Do-more running, setup a Data Display Element with C1 and turn on the Status for Data.
Should see the state of C1 change with press of the button on the display.

Well, had it half right, had the right ports for the display and the CPU,(port 2) baud rate was at 9600, bumped it up to the 38400, and for whatever reason I had DEV00 on both ports  Double checked everything and the time out error is gone, and now I'll see if the little toggle switch on the displays works with the ladder....
Thanks guys, the advice was much appreciated, lets see what kind of trouble I can get into now...

Controls Guy, yeah the C-More has a drop down pick list that you can choose from, the Do-More is on there, passed it up the first couple of times and looked a bit more careful and found it...but it's there.
(SIDE NOTE ) This is kind of cool because now I can program the display and the CPU with out having to move and switch cables from display to CPU like I had to with my 05....

Just like the optimist said as he jump from the cliff......so far so good...the Do-More and the C-more are talking, and the toggle switch is working from display to output on controller. Good night for now, talk with ya'll later...
