DM Designer Connection via the Internet
« on: February 08, 2014, 02:39:38 PM »
Do-more Designer documentation indicates that a "Static" IP address is required for access via the internet.

Q1: Does this mean that I can not have a router with Port Forwarding routing the Internet connection to a internal LAN address?

I can connect DM Designer via my internal LAN, but I can not connect via my external "Dynamic" IP address. My "Dynamic" IP address rarely changes. (once in 5 years due to a major winter storm).

Q2:  Is this a Do-more H2-DM1E limitation?  If so, will it be corrected? ???

Thanks All! :)

Port forwarding should work just fine, since it is basically transparent to both Designer and the CPU when properly configured. There is no limitation in the DM1E that would prevent that from working.

There is a Do-more FAQ that covers this: --> http://www.hosteng.com/FAQFiles/Do-more.htm#FAQ0035

Browsing to FAQs:
1. Goto http://www.hosteng.com
2. In left pane under Support click on FAQs
3. Choose Do-more PLCs or Do-more Designer as the product
4. Scroll down to FAQ0035
