Title: Parker Aries Controller
Post by: pereeder on August 01, 2012, 06:10:10 PM
Hello All-
Anybody ever use a HO-ECOM100 with a Parker Aries Servo drive? The drive uses
"ETHERNET Powerlink motionbus technology".

pereeder, the ECOM100 doesn't support the Ethernet Powerlink protocol. If the drive slave modules supported Modbus TCP, it would be possible for the ECOM100 to talk to them.

Thanks Greg. You're right, it doesn't. Turns out, though, that if you use their XPR power stations HMI, you can control the Aries Servo drives with
the ECOM100 (I used a DL06). All with ethernet, via a switch. The driver is already built into the HMI. It was demonstrated to me here in our shop.
Pretty cool stuff. Bye Bye breakout boards.
