Title: T1H-EBC(100) Modbus
Post by: mhw on May 13, 2010, 08:17:00 PM
I have a H2-ERM and a T1H-EBC. I want to use the EBC serial port as a MODBUS master. Is this possible? If not, then what options do I have?

I'm pretty sure you have the option to not do that.

How do I identify that port in my ladder logic?

the serial port on the T1H-EBC100 is not accessible through the ERM.

What if I change the remote IO to a 205 base with a H2-EBC. Can the serial port on it serve as a MODBUS master? If yes how do I identify the port in ladder?

The serial port on none of the EBC100s is accessible through the ERM.

MHW - this might go faster if you state exactly what equipment you have with current port usage then describe what you are trying to accomplish.

I have a 205 rack with a 260CPU, discrete IO, an ECOM for HMI, and a ERM. The ERM network consists of a couple of T1H-EBCs one with a CITRO module and the other with some discrete IO. At the discrete location there will be a third party device that can comunicate via MODBUS RTU. I was wanting to use exsiting cabling to talk to this device.

Like I said, I'm pretty sure you have the option to not do that.

Yes - probably extra cabling or some means of communication with the remote site is called for. Sorry.
