There has been talk about expanding nicknames beyond the 16 character limit. Is this still on the table or has it fallen to the floor?

It will happen. It isn't as simple as just increasing the storage size and letting you enter a longer names; there many, many not-so-obvious things that start showing up when you evaluate the effort.

We have started work on Gen 2 of the Do-more engine. Gen 2 is primarily a rework of the PLC's memory architecture and namespaces. This is where it will happen.

This is VERY exciting news!

I've been rolling my own deltas for a while now, as I've been doing a ton of 16 and 32-bit value comparisons.  Should I plan to continue doing so long-term or are edge bits going to get a rework as well?

Thanks for continuing to evolve the platform!   :)

I have a couple of requests when you do the Gen 2.
Please try to make the zip link connections logical. I use the BX-DM1E-36### often. The top side cable has pin 1 on the left. The bottom side has pin 1 on the right. I have seen these miswired numerous times.
Second is for PLCs with AC inputs. I have a lot of problems with induced voltage and harmonics firing these inputs. This is a problem that I only see with the BRX series. The H2, T1H, and all other PLCs that I have used do not have this problem.
Thanks for being responsive to your customers and making a great product in the USA.

Zip Link isn't our product, but we can certainly be involved with making them better.

Have you tried adjusting the input filters? We have set a default value that should be keeping them clean, but if that value isn't working well, it can be adjusted.

You're welcome! And thank you for using our products!

Thanks Bob. I didn't know that option was available.
I don't think that will help with the problem that I am having. I have used some debounce logic to no avail. The induced voltage is helped by installing a drain resistor. The harmonics can be tamed by adding a filter at the drive or inductance in series with the input.
I don't understand why this problem is more prevalent with the BRX. The H2 and the old 260 platforms are not affected as much.

I can't speak to the debounce logic, but the filters on BRX built-in inputs are entirely software. If the inputs are glitching, increase the filter time, it'll help. If you are talking about modules, that's a different problem.
