Title: Modbus RTU over Ethernet
Post by: automated on March 02, 2009, 12:49:50 PM
I have a controller that uses modbus RTU over ethernet.  From what I have read this is different from modbus TCP/IP.  Does anyone know of a way to communicate to this over ethernet?

are you intending to use one of our ecom100's as a modbus client to this controller?

if so, can i assume it has an ethernet port (which would connect to the LAN) and a serial port to which you'd multi-drop the modbus rtu devices?

Yes I am planning on it.  The controller has an ethernet port that does modbus rtu over ethernet.  I know you have ecoms that can do modbus TCP I/P but these are two different things.  I am wondering how I would accomplish this.
