Ability to import MAPIO parameters from spreadsheet.

You can import monics.  You could probably do a spreadsheet macro or a little utility to convert from csv to monics.

Ability to import MAPIO parameters from spreadsheet.
To see the general format, click on any MAPIO with a few I/O points and copy it to the clipboard, then PASTE it in NOTEPAD or your favorite text editor.

If you are using built-in X/Y/C/WX/WY/RX/RY/R/N/V, you don't need to include any SYSCONFIG or MEMCONFIG sections.  Even if you have your own user defined blocks, just make sure they are defined in your project BEFORE you do Tools->Insert Instructions from File.

Here's a simple example w/o the SYSCONFIG block (see the attached screenshot for the actual instruction):

Code: [Select]
// Ver(103) PCU(2) Do-more Designer Clip   Source Project: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Do-more\Designer2_7\Projects\~DmD11    Format: Do-more Designer 2.00+  DO-MORE Ladder
PLC BX-DM1E-18ED13

MAPIO "2 X0 C0 X1 C1 X2 C2 WX0 N0"

Then do Tools->Insert Instructions from File (make sure you are in Edit mode Ctrl+E)

It would be cool if there were a way to paste the edited text back in from the clipboard.

I used to do that in SLCs.    Open a [empty] rung for editing, and you could paste in 50 rungs worth of monics if you want.   They already had the ability to enter the rung in typed monic in addition to graphic drag and drop, so it wasn't too much of a leap to be able to paste in multiple rungs from clipboard text.

Consider this a feature request!   :D

I do like the command line feature of RA, especially if there's hundreds of identical rungs to create that just need to be incremented by one in certain spots. Pull out to excel, break into columns, copy down, add SOR and EOR, concatenate each rung, concatenate all. Hundreds of rungs in a few minutes.

You can do that with Designer.  Tools->Insert Instructions from File can do just that.  Generate your text mnemonics in some other program that is optimized to do that.  It's not via the command line but using the GUI instead, but that is 1% of the work (the "hard" work was what you do in Excel).

Thanks for the tip franji just getting back into do-more. I need to explore more of its features.

Is there a comprehensive listing of Mnemonics and examples or do you have to generate it in ladder, copy it to text file and see what shakes out?

There is no handheld programmer for Do-more.  Hence, there is no comprehensive mnemonic documentation.

However, you can still utilize text as a transport mechanism via the import/export/insert mechanisms.  To generate some base source mnemonics, generate what you want in ladder, then copy/paste it into Notepad or your favorite text editor.  Basic contacts/coils are very easy (utilize stack based STR/AND/OR/ANDSTR/ORSTR, along with the new DUPBOOL/POPBOOL for the Master Line Set/Reset mechanism added in 2.8).

Once you go beyond basic contacts/coils/timers/counters, you end up having to worry about hex flag values that are NOT documented at all - recommend not getting too involved with the text mnemonics of those type instructions.  It's do-able as a direct copy, but don't try to reverse engineer your own version of an editor.  :-D

I tried a few different instructions, and like you said, basic instructions are pretty easy to manipulate but it doesn't make sense for more complex instructions.

I'll have to play with it some but that is sounding much less intuitive than what I was referencing in RA. I've pulled stuff out to notepad in RA but you get all of the extra noise. Building rungs via CL eliminates that, just need the instruction name followed by each tag the instruction needs, then the next instruction, branches, etc. Only difference from doing them individually in RA vs doing multiples in Excel is the need to surround it with SOR and EOR. It's clean with no jibberish or noise.
