Title: Can't start a new project in 2.8.1
Post by: Garyhlucas on February 01, 2021, 09:56:40 AM
Trying to work from home today. Do-More won't start a new project, I get this error message:(http://)  I redownloaded and reinstalled Designer still no good.

Make sure that folder exists.  It should actually be trying to create that sub-compound file (.syscfg) here (note \Temp subfolder)
C:\Users\Public\Documents\Do-more\Designer2_8\Projects\Temp

Make sure you can create folders below
C:\Users\Public\Documents\Do-more\Designer2_8\Projects
specifically, the Temp folder.

Some PC Security tightens down folder settings - this is very rare, however - just in places with extremely secure PC admin stuff or strange virtual O/S settings, etc.

Got it working!  ADC tech support had me go into DmDesigner2_8.ini and I changed the file paths from public to my own and we are good to go.

You can also change Projects path from within Designer.  See File->Manage Projects->Folder Settings, and hit the Set Projects Folder... button.

That setting is also the root for all the backups, autosave, and edit history folders.
