I put in a new system with 3 remote BX-DMIO Controllers from a BX-M-D Master. I would say at least once every few weeks I am getting an offline slave error that requires I power cycle the remote slave. This is a real issue and I have never experienced this with any other EBC-100 type modules I have 6 in operation here. There is, from what i can tell, no way to see what is going on at the DMIO?. I am wondering if the BX-EBC100-M-D have the same issue. If not I would replace them with that model in a second to prevent this. It is also very random and has never happened during production. Seems like I get the notification from the PLC during the night and have to make sure to get here before production to reboot the offline remote. This has happened with all three of the DMIO remotes at different times. They have a red light on them before I reboot them and come right back online after the reboot. There are Touch screens local to both operator remotes and those are online and operational. One of the remotes is local in the Master cabinet due to IO limitations and on the same switch so I know that it is not a network the issue. I am running the most current firmware in each remote.
Thanks
John.

You aren't doing anything to the PLC, just rebooting the DMIOs? Are the network switches getting rebooted, or just the DMIO?

Just the DMIO. I pull the plug on the DMIO and plug it back in. Comes back online and everything works fine.

Have you tried to talk to the DMIO with NetEdit when it is failed? I'm just trying to get a sense of what state the DMIO is in.

Does not show up on netedit and will not ping.

Yuk. Sounds unhappy. We need to get support working directly with you.

John, I just sent you an email. We'll troubleshoot and figure this thing out. Then we'll post the findings here for all who are interested. I can get more specific when I'm in the office in the morning. In the meantime, I sent you some general things to look for.

Has anybody figured this out yet? I've had exactly the same issue for a while now.

EBC/DMIO firmware bug. We have a fix, although I don't know if it is released. We'll get you fixed up.

I sent you a private email. I can send you the BETA firmware for you to try at your own risk until we fully test it and release it. This goes for anyone reading this post as well. Just reference this issue and send an email to support@hosteng.com.

Beta Firmware resolved the issue. I have not had the problem since loading it in.
Thank You for resolving it so quickly.
