Title: BX-DM1E-36ER3
Post by: ElieR on May 06, 2020, 07:53:44 AM
I am upgrading a machine where i have 3 separate parts on it,

i am intending to use one BX-DM1E-36ER3 and two BX-DM1E-36AR3.

My questions regarding those PLCs:

1- Can the three PLCs communicate with each other through ethernet IP or TCP IP especially that i need to connect some VFDs and HMIs to them?
2- What is the size of the memory available inside those PLC? or is it only depending on the flash memory installed?
3- If i have to input some motors/belts encoder inputs, can i use the High Speed inputs? is the rate sufficient?

Thank you,

1) If it's the same machine you might want to use BX-DM1E-36ER3 and two EBC100 modules for remote I/O. But yes, if you use what you've specified they can all communicate with one another through EIP or Modbus or you could use peerlink.

2) Program capacity is ~65k words. See this post concerning memory: https://forum.hosteng.com/index.php?topic=2673.msg21689#msg21689

3) Maybe (Most Likely). It depends on motor speed, encoder ppr (but most likely yes).

Yes. PEERLINK for simple low(er) speed coordination. DLRX/WX allows Do-more controllers to exchange specific data, and do so faster. And Modbus is always a good standby.

2- What is the size of the memory available inside those PLC? or is it only depending on the flash memory installed?

64K instructions, 256K data. There is also the SDCard for bulk storage and retrieval, and a 1M RAM disk.

3- If i have to input some motors/belts encoder inputs, can i use the High Speed inputs? is the rate sufficient?

High speed DC inputs are 250KHz. If there are no enough on the brick itself, you can add HSIO modules.
