How everyone holding up in the grand scheme of things? I know some industries have been hit pretty hard the last week or two.
-
ADC just announced Host Engineering's new set of Universal Temperature and Universal Analog modules for the BRX I/O platform, along with Do-more Designer 2.7. These modules are manufactured right here in Upper East Tennessee by Host's manufacturing company, VinTech (not China). Buy a few for yourself and a few friends ;D.
Things are changing day by day, so we'll see how it works out over time...

Id love to convert to Do-More, but my new job is gung ho Allen Bradley. And it drives me batty...
-
Poor bastards using AB. MY new job is gung ho Automation Direct! YAHOO!
-
I wish your job was hiring in NW ohio, lol. My last plant had a boss who hated AD, but since I was the guy doing the projects I ordered what I wanted.
Here it's 100% Allen Bradley Kool-Aid. Im always like "If we had a Do-More, we wouldn't have to make this workaround."

We also have Siemens, and on a side note - ASi modules suck. Chasing down ASi errors are becoming the bane of my existence here.

I just plain love the fact that Host calls a bug.........a bug! Then says we?ll fix that, and they do. I can put up with a lot if you just tell me the truth.

S7-1200 and especially 1500 rock. They'll blow the doors off a ControlLogix at a third the price, AND you don't have to submit a DNA sample to get support. ASI, yeah, not so much. (but then that's European more than Siemens per se)

ASI was invented to make DeviceNet look good (no small task), which was invented to make Profibus look really good, which was a good product, but surpassed by Profinet.
