Is there any way to create a custom layout that can be used any time a project is opened? I've seen in the documentation that data windows can be saved in a template format so that they can be opened at a later time. Is there a way to save a screen layout so that every time a project is opened the instruction toolbox, data windows xref windows etc. open in the same location. What I'm looking for is something similar to how the Productivity software works in that however the screen is last configured when opening a new project the layout will be the same as the layout that was last used. Have I missed something in the layout setup?

Each project has its own "layout". There are no universal layouts. This is one feature that we would like to make available, for example an offline/editing layout vs. an online/debugging layout (and be able to create your own).
Currently, each .dmd project file saves the layout all of its specific code-blocks and data views and trend views, etc. in the other two files (.wsp and .dlo). Whenever you re-open that project, everything gets restored to what it was when you closed the project file.

You could probably create a default.dmd project with all your layouts.
When you start a new project just open default.dmd and "Save As".

Thanks franji1 and plcnut. I guess the default.dmd program solution could be used as a workaround until functionality of the software is increased. The upgrades posed by franji1 would be nice. This would be similar to setting up a default layout in Word, Excel, AutoCAD or most any other common software program that loads the same layout every time the program is opened. It would be nice to have different layouts as described for online, offline, debug etc.
