I am wondering if the USB port on a BRX can get serial data from an Arduino R3 that sends out data to a PC USB port. The Arduino programming software provides a utility that collects the serial data that print statements in the Arduino send out. For the experiments I am conducting I’d like the data to go to the BRX.
Thanks,

I doubt it. USB distinguishes between master and slave devices, and the type port that's on the BRX is intended to be the slave type so it can talk to a PC. If the Arduino can talk to a PC, then it's probably the same type as the BRX and thus cannot talk to it. It's not like RS232 where you can get devices that are the same type (electrically) to talk to each other by cross-connecting their Tx & Rx. Does the Arduino have an RS232 port so you can talk to the serial port on the BRX? That would be a lot easier on the BRX end.

No, for a couple of reasons.
As was already suggested, serial is the best bet.

Thanks guys,
I have always thought that RS-232 was a 12vdc based protocol which was why serial converters using the USB port didn't work well with things like PLCs. The Arduino is 5 volt and has a UART based serial port. Would this likely talk to the BRX built in serial port or the POM module?

These work nicely.

It uses the same com pins as the USB.

Thanks for that link. Of course they are out of stock! I hate Amazon it’s like shopping at a flea market.

Missed that, had to get the last shipment from the manufacturer, cheaper actually.
