Title: EthernetIP with Panther P8 Label Applicator
Post by: Bobby on June 20, 2017, 10:01:30 AM
Hi all,
I have never used EthernetIP and am trying to figure it all out. Is it possible for me to use the do-more with a Panther P8 Label Applicator? I know the applicator says it supports EthernetIP but all it talks about is how to connect with an Allen Bradley PLC?

I guess my main question is Ethernet-IP a standard in itself, or does each PLC have its own version?

Digging into the Panther P8 more it is running a WAGO 750-841 PLC. Am I out of luck with Ethernet IP on that?

Ethernet/IP is a standard, but the definitions of every device are unique. There is generally a manual detailing the class definitions for each device. This will come from the product vendor.

Do-more supports Explicit Messaging, so make sure your device also supports Explicit Messaging.
