Title: Internal error when pasting code block to existing project

I am trying to paste a code block from a working program into an existing project when I get an error.
I have pasted multiple code blocks into this project successfully, so I'm not sure what the issue is with this one...

 ???

Make sure you can create a new DISK project and save it to disk.

Specifically, make sure your "Projects" folder exists and that you can write to it.  See File->Manage Projects->Folder Settings to see your specific Projects folder path, then use Windows to browse to that folder to make sure it exists.

Everything looks o.k. there.
I had pasted other code blocks from that project into the other project, but when I got to that one, I got the error.
Its not a large block, I can just re-write it in the destination project, just seemed strange.

Try rebooting (it couldn't hurt).

Looks as though 2 rungs in the program block were the problem for pasting. There was a math box with a move instruction in each rung that would not paste. No rule violations and the program worked....?? Typed them manually into the new project..

Can you paste the source "code block" clip (not the rungs, but the "code block") into an email and send it to support@hosteng.com?  Put "Paste Bug" in the subject line.

What version(s) of Designer are you using (both the source clip and the destination paste)?

Could not paste the code block due to the error, but I sent the project with just the code block that had the problem. The 2 rungs in that code block will not paste into other code blocks or projects.

Probably something I did wrong...... :D

It's a bug.  Designer's generated nickname section in the clip is invalid, hence when you PASTE, it FAILS.

That should just be the nickname for the CT10, not CT10.Acc:

It's a bug in 2.0.  It's a bug in 1.4.  Not sure when it was introduced and why we have not seen this.   ???

Hopefully we will get this fixed quickly.  Sorry about that.


Turned out the clip generated the data correctly from the source.  The nickname itself was invalid  :o (see my later post).  Gotta figure out how THAT happened.

Not a problem. Glad to help... I've got that kind of luck "finding" those types of things.
At least it makes me feel like I've done something somewhat productive... ;D

Elroy, I sent you an email (tell Astro I said "hi!").

After digging deeper, the issue is not in the CLIP GENERATION, but the actual database nickname field was invalid from the start (that nickname contained a dot, which is not allowed).  THAT is the root cause if this issue.

If we can figure out how THAT happened, that would be great.
