Title: Do-more 2.0.3 USB Firmware Update Hang
Post by: willpoll on March 15, 2017, 12:28:24 PM
Hi,

Just upgraded to 2.0.3 and I'm trying to update the firmware in a H2-DM1E from 1.3.2 to 2.0.2 via USB connection.

The progress meter hangs on first square for at least 10 minutes before I reboot my computer.  CSMainDm.exe process is using 100% of my CPU.  OS is Win7 Enterprise 64-bit. 8 GB ram.

I've rebooted and attempted several times.

Any help appreciated, thanks!!

I've also removed the Do-more Designer 2.0.3 and re-downloaded and re-installed, issue still persists.

Thanks!

First thought would be to use the Ethernet or serial port to get upgraded. Honestly not sure what the issue with USB is, but not much surprises me either.

The tech here at Host that usually helps with such things is out of town, but we can put you in contact with him when he's back. Barring that, ADC's tech guys may be able to help.

Thanks BobO,

I'll give that a shot.

I attempted to use the updater in 1.4.3 to update the firmware image to both 1.4.1 and 2.0.2 and it moved all the way through the process, but then said "error committing to ROM" and PLC still shows 1.3.2.

I'll try serial port as I have the cable and ethernet is not an easy option in my IT environment.

Thanks again!

SUCCESS!!!!

BobO,

I took your advice ad went with an Ethernet direct connection between my laptop and the PLC, both OS and Booter/FPGA went without a hitch.

Thanks!

Awesome.

That doesn't give us an answer but it does solve your problem, which is obviously more important!
