Version 2.0 Do-more Designer is now available. (http://support.automationdirect.com/products/domore.html)
Version 2.0 includes the following new features available across ALL of the Do-more PLC platforms: 205, Terminator, Simulator, and the new BRX line of PLCs (click here to see the announcement of the new BRX Line of Micro PLCs (http://forum.hosteng.com/index.php/topic,1950.msg16439.html#msg16439)). - Dashboard View - get Project/PLC status, and navigate to many areas of Designer from a "screw-head centric" user interface.
- Built-in Training Videos - Video Help is just 1 or 2 mouse clicks away - just look for the Red Play button (https://forum.hosteng.com/wndm/images/PlayButton.gif) on the Dashboard, or in the icon bar at the top of an Instruction Editor, or in the title bar of a Dialog box. Pushing the Red Play button (https://forum.hosteng.com/wndm/images/PlayButton.gif) will launch a video related to the instruction, dialog, or Dashboard panel you are in.
- Start Page - changed to provide hot link buttons to play 5 new videos that will help you get up and running with Designer 2.0: Welcome to Designer 2.0, How to Create a Simple Program, Troubleshooting Tips, Do-more PLC Architecture, Helpful Hints. The 6th button lets you navigate, play and optionally download any/all of the 90+ videos
- Select Project dialog - (Launch Pad on steroids) lists all your recent projects sorted by the Last Opened date by default, but you can sort by any of the columns: Project name, Folder, Last Opened date/time stamp, Link name, Link Information, Link Description, PLC type. It launches by default at start-up but is easy to turn that off, or use File->Select Project menu.
- RAM Drive File System - Do more Technology Version 2.0 (DmT 2.0) added a RAM Drive File System, so existing H2-DM1x, T1H DM1x CPUs can support the new FILE**** instructions with a simple firmware upgrade. For example, FILELOG - Log to File lets you log recurrent data at a desired time interval. Use the Browse PLC File System dialog in Designer's PLC menu to read/write files to your RAM drive; OR send the log file as an attachment via the EMAIL instruction. New File System instructions include FILELOG, FILEOPEN, FILEREAD, FILEWRITE, FILECLOSE, FILEDEL, FILECOPY, FILENEWFLDR, FILEQUERY, FILESYSCMD, FILESEEK, FILETRUNC.
- Subroutines - new code-block type in DmT 2.0 which you can CALL from Programs, Tasks, or even other Subroutines. The CALL instruction supports passing input parameters and returning output parameters "by value" through the global image register memory.
- Enhanced New Offline Project dialog - lets you pictorially see your selected Hardware Class and PLC Sub-Type of your BRX, 205, Terminator, or Simulator Do-more PLC, along with specifications of the model/sub-type chosen.
- EMAIL/STRPRINT instruction enhancements - DmT 2.0 supports two new script commands, TimeStamp(min or sec resolution, local or UTC) and Fill(character/byte, length). EMAIL also supports an optional file attachment (see FILELOG above).
- New ENDC coil - Conditionally END a Program or Task code-block; this is sometimes useful as a debugging tool
- Instruction Toolbox show/hide classes - can now hide any set of instruction classifications that you don’t ever use, freeing up more screen space in the Toolbox for the instructions that you do use
- Ladder View Ctrl+Forward-Slash - hot key to quickly toggle documentation on/off, great when online and needing more logic status real estate
- Browse Videos dialog - lets you navigate all the videos, and it supports keyword filtering and title text search to watch any/all videos (see Help->Browse Videos)
