Title: EIPMSG - Simulator to Simulator
Post by: sgsims on August 24, 2016, 09:19:21 PM
I was watching this video on the AD site <Do-more EtherNet/IP Explicit Client with a Do-more Explicit Server> which showed a Do-More CPU as the (Server) communicating with a Do-More Simulator as the the (Client).  So I tried to set things up the other direction - Do-More CPU as the (Client) communicating with the Do-More Simulator as the (Server).

I can't get the comms to work...is it possible to use the simulator as the (Client) communicating with the CPU as the Server or can the Simulator only serve as the client?

I believe you can do it. You will have to make sure you open up the correct port(s) in your firewall.

Both PLC and simulator support both client and server. EIP server is not enabled by default, so be sure you enable and configure it.

Thanks Guys....the Windows Firewall setting did the trick....created a new rule in the advanced settings of Windows firewall to allow the IP address of the Do-More PLC to get through.

Works like a charm.
