Title: Negative Value Timer Presets
Post by: Mike Nash on August 18, 2016, 10:55:41 PM
Well, FAQ0016 says I can have a predictive timer preset up to 24 days before the rung condition goes true. Every time I have tried it I have missed the lead up and the timer done bit just seems to go true when the event occurs. Is it not possible for me to observe the timing action before the rung goes true? Am I screwing with my life expectancy doing this?

I could have seriously used about a -10,800,000 mS preset today before I left the site. Then I might have realized I forgot to make the CTRIO2 counter reset value the same number as I had made the pulse output value before I left instead of 3 hours later.  :(

Reminds me of pre-GPS directions from people, "Turn left about a mile before you get to town."

OK, seriously, would a negative preset work any differently than zero for any of the timer variants?

Turn on status view.

Not from what I saw when I did it in the simulator.
