Saw one of these on Ebay, listed as a single channel axis controler, could not find any info on AD's website, was wondering if anyone here had any info, I assume this is an Obsolete part. Was wandering if there were any replacement items to this?

Unless somebody gives you one and you use it on a home project, stay clear of it. About a hundred years ago, I programmed the Siemens version of it. Its a completely different animal from the High Speed Counter module. I believe it was intended for a CNC type controller.

Needing to intergrate a DL plc into a Thermoforming machine! Uses (3) servo motors, one "No Problem" 3KW so will use Sure Servo. Other to are about 15KW not sure how to proceed, they use a seperate Servo controller and endramate amplifiers and motors at the moment. Looking to do something else!

Koyo Japan has a D2-02PM card for 2 axis pulse module control. I just got mine today along with a D2-265 CPU (integrated ethernet). I plan on using them to control a Mitsubishi J4 servo drive and motor combo. I have used the D4-PULS-1's to control Mitsubishi J2/J2S several times.

Where did you get these devices especially the DL 265!

Koyo sells the 265 in Japan, but you have to use their version of DirectSOFT, which is in Japanese. They may have an English version. Not sure how you would buy one or their software here in the U.S.
Automation Direct does not sell or support the 265, so you will have to get help from Koyo, Japan. One reason for this is that ADC chose to go with Do-more as the new CPU on 205 platform, instead of the 265.

This is a pita as I really like the DL series and from what I can find on the 265 it is quite a powerful cpu!

Just get a Do-More. It's like if they had improved the DLx line 1000x, then threw it away and did it right. (And that's coming from someone who's always liked the DLx line)

Do-more not capable of multi-drop? Sure, not on the existing CPU port without a convertor, but adding a H2-SERIO-4 module gets you an RS-422/RS-485 port and two RS-232 ports that work just the same as the onboard port. Or add a FA-ISOCON and convert the onboard port to RS-422/RS-485. Added cost yes, but it certainly supports multi-drop.

Have only used the simulator, it is nice. But from what information that I have been able to gather on the DL-265 it would also be nice.
Don't misunderstand it does seem to be very nice, but I don't have at this time any projects that I would use it over a DL model.

No disrespect to DL or the 265, but I don't know of anyone who after using Do-more in an actual app wanted to go back to DL.

The speed is better, vastly better program organization and execution/priority control, the new Memory view (like AB, Omron, Idec, and everyone else has, finally, but better!), more and better types of memory, user definable memory (!), typed memory (still castable when you need to), protected memory that can only be accessed with secure comms protocols, the awesome Trend View, the (way past timely) death of BCD, I could go on and on. It has BOTH tag/heap and conventional table memory.
I actually hate when I have to work on a DL-classic because there's so many improvements in DM. I haven't installed a DL205 since DM came out, nor do I expect to.

Have you seen the specs on the DL-265, I personally like the DL-Series, started using them in the 90's and have since changed out many of Siemens, AB and Omron and switched to DL. I guess it really is a matter of choice. And I do not mean to indicate that the Do-More is not a capable platform, just some of us like the DL series just fine and are completely comfortable using it with all of its perceived flaws. And I believe there would be more than enough demand for both. But, hey we all have our own views on things.

Yes, I am familiar with the 265...basically just a faster 260 with a bit more memory and an Ethernet port. Having used both DS and DmD, there is zero chance I would ever use it over a DM1.

No, I haven't seen specs on the 265, but what BobO posted here was about what I was assuming. Little faster, higher memory version of a 260, maybe a few added instructions. IOW, like extrapolating the differences between a 250 and a 260.
But in essence, it's just a slightly bigger, better DL-classic CPU. The quantitative difference between say a 260 and a DM (speed, memory, etc) is huge, and yet the qualitative advantages are much bigger yet. It's just a completely different animal. You really have to try one. And as I said before, that comes from someone for whom the DL-classic line was tied for first (with AB) as my most used PLC, which shows both that I liked them well and was very experienced in applying them.
