I know what a preset table is, what is a PLS table?
Designer needs a glossary to help us new guys.
BTW, I am getting double underlined words in the forum message text that are links to everything.
In this windWo "Message icon" is this link "http://forum.hosteng.com/index.php?action=post;board=2.0#" Looks ligitimate but the pop up window is titled TOP STORIES. ??????
Did I get a virus when I downloaded Screen Hunter?
Anyone else have this problem.

Not familiar with this particular implementation, but it almost certainly stands for Programmable Limit Switch. In the old days, when you wanted to have certain functions occur at certain phases on some piece of rotating machinery (like a press, say), you'd have used a cam box. A box with a bunch of adjustable cams all on the same shaft, each with a limit switch.
The next refinement was to replace the cam box with an encoder connected to a dedicated electronic monitor. The monitor had a number of output relays and you could program them electronically rather than have to cut a new cam ("Have switch 1 on from 90-185 degrees and then again from 240-270"), and was called a Programmable Limit Switch. I'm sure it's this kind of a function the "PLS" mode refers to.

No, I don't have them on my computer. That is advertising software on your PC. It may be an "add-on" that can be disabled in the browser settings.

As a screenshot capture utility, I use ScreenshotCaptor which I like pretty well.

I finally found it spelled out, you were right, Programmable Limit Switch. I needed to know as I may want to use it.
I can get an output for a range of encoder values, might be handy.
As for the Advertising plugin, I got it with the download of Screen Hunter from cnet. This will be the last time I trust cnet. And yes I was able to remove the unwanted plugins, thanks.

At some time during the install, you probably clicked continue on a page that asked whether you wanted the bla bla plugin installed. If you don't pay close attention, it is very easy to do. Normally you just need to deselect a check box before continuing. Only know this because I've also been burned a time or two. ::)

I came very close to authorizing two $200 charges to my credit card when I was expecting one charge of $2.50. The check box for AGREE TO TERMS was checked and I noticed it. I rarely read the mile of terms but this time I did because someone had greed to them for me. In the terms was the two monthly payments. It would have difficult to get that reversed.
That was an ASK.COM site scam. I no longer ASK anything!
