Title: Do More thermocouple
Post by: Rastus81 on April 22, 2013, 11:51:32 PM
Hello All,

Can anyone point me in the right direction with a F2-04THM.
I have a thermocouple connected to CH1, but WX0 is reading 0.

The manual doesn't cover domore plc's.

Thanks
Rastus

See if there are any details you need in the Do-more manual

Here's the link to chapter 6:

and a link to a page containing links to all the chapters:

Thanks,

I have that manual. But it only outlines the jumper settings. Im wondering if i need to use any instructions to read the data, like they outline in the module manual.

I'm not a thermo-couple person, so I don't know how/if the wiring can cause what you are seeing.

The short answer is no. If the module is wired correctly and working correctly the data should just show up in WX memory.

Double check the wiring, and make sure the PLC is in Run mode. (I don't want to admit how many times I've had problems, and it was because I was in program mode  :o )
Also Is the PLC seeing the module in the configuration menu?

that module also requires an external 24V connection, make sure it's securely attached, and that the polarity is correct.

Thankyou for your replies.

I tried a new thermocouple and the WX register produced a reading.

Although the original thermocouple worked ok in my meter. Maybe i didn't have it secured well enough under the terminal screw.

I wonder if there is an input for open circuit detection?

Thanks again.

It will be Xn. See page 6-27 of the manual.
