BX-P-ECOMEX & STREAMOUT
« on: April 25, 2024, 07:32:06 PM »
If I've got a PLC with a BX-P-ECOMEX installed on a different subnet than the built-in Ethernet port can I setup a TCP Server device to listen to a port on one LAN doing STREAMIN and STREAMOUT commands while also setting up TCP Client device to connect to a port on the other LAN also doing STREAMIN and STREAMOUT commands?

Basically my question is can I use the BX-P-ECOMEX to allow me to "talk" to two different subnets using TCP Server/Client devices and ASCII strings?

Yep. Only restriction is that there can be only one gateway, so one port must be designated as the WAN port and the other keeps the 0 gateway. But yes, that's basically what the EX is designed for.

Thanks Bob! I thought that was the case, but wanted to double check before I insert my foot into my mouth with a prospective customer.
