Recovering a Win PLC program
« on: August 02, 2012, 03:51:29 PM »
Hello,

I have currently run into a problem with one of the Win PLCs we use with some of our production equipment.  We save a backup file of the current program to our server in the event that we need to make changes and such but the backup file has since corrupted and dosen't contain any of the program that is being used now.  Unfortunately we have not been able to save a compressed version of the file on the PLC due to issues with its size and causing the transfer to fail.  Is there any way that I can take the CPU we are using and pull the program from the unit without the compressed copy?

that sounds like something the Entivity software will have to allow you to do, so your best bet is to contact them directly.

I can tell you the WinPLC hardware does not place any restrictions on these type operations, any restrictions or concerns like these are enforced by the programming software, in this case, it's the Entivity s/w.
Good design costs a lot. Bad design costs even more.
