EDRV 100 Comm Parameters

The RS485 comm parameter can be changed from the web server interface but it doen't maintain the setting.
Speaking with Auto Direct Tech support, they confirmed this problem. They say that the device is designed to reboot to the 19200 baud rate. If this is the case then why have parameters that can be changed? I can change the drive to 38.4, I can change the PLC RS485 port to match, but not the EDRV.
Are we missing something?
I have quite a few drives in this application and faster comms would be helpfull.
Please let me know ASAP.

I finally have an answer for you ... I had to go verify that what you was seeing was legit, because it sounded wrong. But, you were correct in that no matter what baud rate you select via the web page, or through the front panel interface, the GS-EDRV100 is going to reset the baud rate to 19200. This was a design decision made back in '05, when were were working through some comm issues between the original GS-EDRV and the GS drives. I'm not sure if the reasons for doing this are still legitimate, but I will take it up with AutomationDirect and find out.

After several days of discussion with the folk at AutomationDirect we have decided to ... wait for it ... not change the GS-EDRV100 so that it can operate at the higher baud rate.
19200 is the highest common baud rate among the GS1, GS2 & GS3 drives, and the higher baud rate will not have much impact on the throughput because the packets of data being sent are very small. ADC will make additions to the GS-EDRV100 documentation to this effect.
