Here is the link to the .zip file containing the Installation Program of DirectSOFT/MX and the MX Simulator.  We would really love for as many of you as are interested to download the Technology Preview and help us run it through the paces.

http://www.hosteng.com/download/setupmx.zip

After installation, the first few Tips of the Day will help get you started.  Feel free to create new threads within this MX Technology Preview Forum about your questions, comments, concerns, bugs, etc.  That’s why it’s here!

Please do not contact AutomationDirect on this. The technical support for the Beta release is being done by Host Engineering.  Please ask your questions here on this Forum. Host Engineering will do our very best to answer very quickly.  ADC will be coming up to speed as the product gets closer to shipping.

Thank you for your interest in MX!

I loaded the program but where is the sample program listed in the tooltip? In the example folder, there is nothing. Also it will not allow me to create a new program, says path not found.

Oops...last minute changes to the install environment. It'll be simple to fix (INI file tweek), but I'll let Franj answer when he gets in. It should be very shortly.

Sorry about that, but if you had a preBeta or an Alpha installed, you need to uninstall first.  PLCGuy, I sent you an email giving you some details on that.

After you re-install, your projects folder should be set to
C:\DirectSOFT-MX\Projects
(if not, you'll need to set it via the File->Manage Projects->Folder Settings dialog to reset it back to the Projects folder specified above.)

The SampleBeta1.mxp project file will be in the root Projects folder, not in the example folders.

You knew I just could not wait until next week for the new release. I like it so far. On the start page, the internet icons do not work. It says go to the Internet Start Up Property Sheet. I am quessing in the near future I will be able to add more program Icons such as C-More Icon so I can launch C-More from the start page. I also have to remember to close the program just do not go for the X in the upper right hand corner or the whole thing shuts down. I am use to the oooold DS when the two programs were separate and you could close the programming and the start page was still open.

Downloaded the file and installed without any issues. The interface looks great. I will start using and report any findings.

Yup - just talked with our IT guy.  THIS forum SERVER is fine, but our WEB SERVER machine is having some power-supply issues.  It (hopefully) be up and running soon (sometime this morning).  I'll post again when it's working, so you won't need to "keep trying".

Thanks for the heads up!

Had to rebuild my main PC.  Installed the Beta1.1 and the patch... (placed in correct folder C:\DirectSOFT-MX\Bin beause I recieved the overwrite dialogue). However, each time I try to run the DirectSoft-MX Programming app, it prompts me to fetch the patches again... Is it something I am doing wrong?  Are there Beta2 files available that I don't have access too?

No, that download has a "time bomb" in it, but we do not have a Beta release available as a general download (signed Beta customers only at this point).  All I can say is that we're "on the home stretch" of getting this product line ready to ship.
