I have 3 H0-ECOMs and 2 HO-ECOM100s.  One of the 100s won't work with a DL06 or DL05.  It has the latest Firmware and Bootloader as do the PLCs.  I can see it and configure it with NetEdit, but it won't communicate with the PLC via NetEdit-Test CPU Access.  The LEDs on the front look normal (just like the other working ECOMs.  Any ideas?  It used to work, just not sure if something has failed on it or not...at $200 a pop, hate to just toss it.  Restore Factory Settings doesn't fix it either.

Check all the pins on the module that plug into the backplane of the plc, sometimes one of them can get bent.

it sounds like the backplane connector - or it's connection to the board - has been damaged.

if the module's connector and the backplane connector were ever misaligned during the module's installation (it's easy to get it misaligned) it can damage the module connector. Sometimes the connector is lifted off of the surface-mount connection, sometimes the surface-mount pad itself is lifted off the board. It's difficult to tell by looking at the connector how it has been damaged.

We do offer an out-of-warranty repair service for the module we build, the repair cost for an h0-ecom100 is $52, way cheaper than buying a new one. If you're interested go to www.hosteng.com and follow the link in the left-side menu for "H/W Repair RMA)" to request an RMA.

Good design costs a lot. Bad design costs even more.
