CTRIO - ProfiBus control
«

I'm setting up the CTRIO module in a ProfiBus environment and have finally managed to properly communicate and control via the PLC's Step7 program. I'm wanting to use this combo to control stepper drives in a continuous mode. In other words, once the counter is loaded and enabled the output will remain until stopped by Step7. My question is what is the best scenario to change the counter output (speed of the stepper) during the run with minimal delay? Will I have to stop one pulse profile and begin another?
Thanks

The easiest thing to do us use a Dynamic Velocity Pulse Profile. Once this profile is loaded, you merely have to change the velocity parameter on-the-fly and the speed changes.
