Gentlemen,
I know the click is not your software. But on my first outing into it I saw some things I liked. In their version of the documentation editor (they call it the address picker) I saw some things I think should be in Direct Soft.
1. There is a button that you can enable modbus addresses to be shown if you want or do not want.
2. There is another button to "fill down" nicknames sequentially. (the downside is that it will only "ratchet" the last digit). It would be excellent if it could "ratchet" "mach 1 selsw" to "mach 2 selsw". Instead of "mach selsw 1" to "mach selsw 2".
3. There are buttons to display "bit type ranges" only. ie display X1 to X(max) or Y1 to Y(max). This allows you to grab the scroll bar and navigate the range that way. I cannot navigate this way in Direct Soft (It jumps ranges too fast). There is also a button to display all.
4. There are radio button options to display used addresses, unused addresses or both.
The above items allow you to "configure" the documentation editor very quickly and for the moment.
5. There is also a column that indicates whether a address is used or not.
PS. One thing that I did not like was that "cntrl +f" hot keys would not work in the "documentation editor". You had to use your mouse to click on the find window, let go of the mouse and then type in what you wanted to find. Do not loose this feature!
I think I remember this being discussed before. In the rung comments they have some font options (although some are greyed out at this time) This allows me to put some extra emphasis on a particular part of the rung comment.
Thanks for everything Host has done previously (just asking for more!)
