I have a H2-ECOM100 and I am using ECWX/ECRX commands to send modbus command numbers to a Rice Lake. I have a small subroutine running in the rice lake to display the word bus, when it receives bus traffic.

When I power-up the unit, I get an initial weight reading to the PLC, but it does not track also I get the word bus on the rice lake unit. I then press clear on the Rice Lake to remove the word (bus) from the screen. I stop the PLC than restart it, the weight value in the PLC does not change, and the word bus does not reappear. It isn't until I power the system off then back on that I see the weight in the PLC change, and the word bus reappears on the screen. Tongue

Does anyone have any insight as to why the comms are locking up?

Thanks,
Nick

Nick, I reviewed your project you sent me, and I sent an e-mail with my comments. I also left you a voicemail. I'll be out of the office at Automation Direct Thursday, 16-Oct-2008. But back the next day.

Greg,

Thanks for your help with this, the subroutine I was using to display the word "Bus" was causing the comm's to lock up. When I removed that subroutine my comms began working perfectly.
