HO-CTRIO stepper mode
«

I am using the HO-CTRIO card connected to a stepper drive. Some times I need to perform a cycle stop. When the “suspend output” bit from the PLC to the CTRIO is sent the stepper output stops. This is good. The problem I'm having is when I restart the motion the CTRIO does not reuse the accel information and sends the steps at full speed. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks for the help,
Wayne

you're not doing anything wrong, that's the way the module works, it's not really a motion module so it doesn't know how to do what you're asking it to do.
one way you can make it reuse the accel info in the profile again is to reset the output before you disable the suspend and allow the pulses to flow again.

Good design costs a lot. Bad design costs even more.
