Normally, a message like this means the CommServer that is running does not support the PLC you are trying to make a link for, or open a project for.
Questions:
(1) The error you mention, is that verbatim what the error says?
(2) What are you doing when you get this error? Double-clicking on a Project? Opening a new project? Making a link?
(3) Are you able to start DSLaunch?
- If so, if you click on DirectSOFT 5 Programming under Applications folder at the left (one time!), then what does the window at the right list under Additional Info? Is DirectLogic 05 Series listed there?
(4) Under Utilities at the left there is a program called Version. If you double-click on this app, it should pull up DirectSOFT 5 - Version Browser. Applications are listed at the top, and the application that is selected's Modules are listed in the window below. Each module for each application should have the same version (e.g. v5.2.10 is the latest). There should be none of them different.
(5) Do you have anything else running that talks to DL PLCs? Like DSData? Or LookoutDirect?

Please disregard previous post. The oddest thing. I work second shift, tried the link today and it seems to be fine. Thanks for your quick response though.
