Differences in replies from H2EBC and EBC100

I have had a java application running for some months that read the statuses of the H2EBC and its switches, and sent that back to my program as a datagram packet.  I was able to read that packet and determine from there which of the switches were on and which were off.
Now I am trying to make that same thing work on an EBC100.  I tried in the hopes that it would just work, but it seems that there is different data sent back to my computer from the EBC100 than there was from the H2EBC.
I was hoping that someone could help me out with maybe a tip on how to make this work with this new type of EBC.  Specifically, if there is a different configuration of bytes, what would be the first byte containing data on the switches, or what are the differences in how these two models communicate out their ethernet ports.
